Edita exports its products to over 20 markets across MENA and North Africa, the largest of which are the Iraq, Jordan, and others. The company provides considerable support for its distributors in its key export markets (marketing support) and accordingly has been able to garner considerable market share. Next to widening our reach within existing markets, we are actively working to grow our footprint and regional presence.


Edita Morocco

In 2018, Edita partnered with leading Moroccan FMCG distributor Dislog Group to establish Edita Food Industry Morocco, enabling access to over 36 million consumers through a fully integrated sales and distribution network. The company also registered its flagship Freska brand that year, shipping 69 containers to the market, while simultaneously laying the groundwork for its first overseas manufacturing facility by securing a long-term lease for a 13,000 sqm plot of land and completing all technical and design studies.

Construction of the Morocco facility began in 4Q2019 and operations commenced in December 2021 with the production of HOHOs, followed by the installation of a second cake production line for Twinkies in October 2022.

In 2025, Edita Morocco recorded revenues of EGP 132 million, marking an 8% year-on-year increase, driven by improved distribution efficiency and stronger retail penetration following the rollout of a dedicated retail sales force. Revenues grew by 30.3% on a year-to-date basis in 9M2025, reflecting the continued strengthening of Edita’s operational footprint and brand presence in the Moroccan market.

Edita Iraq

Strengthening its presence in high-potential regional markets remains central to Edita’s expansion strategy, with Iraq marking a key milestone in this journey. In 2024, Edita entered the Iraqi market through the acquisition of a 49% stake in Tuama Jebur Abbas (TJA), a well-established, family-owned snack manufacturing company. This move builds on nearly two decades of successful exports to Iraq and represents a strategic step toward localizing production, diversifying revenue streams, and accelerating growth across priority regional markets.

The acquisition provides Edita with a fully operational manufacturing facility featuring three production lines—two for cakes and one for biscuits—spanning a total built-up area of 13,110 sqm. With operations launched in 2024, Iraq became Edita’s second direct regional presence after Morocco, reinforcing the Group’s ability to execute cross-border growth opportunities and advance its vision of becoming a multi-market regional player.
